Catalog description

Covers up-to-date and practical spreadsheet modeling tools, which can be applied to a wide variety of business problems in finance, marketing, and operations. Consists of simulation modeling techniques to analyze risk and uncertainties in business environment, optimization techniques to determine the best managerial actions under internally and/or externally-imposed constraints, and real-world examples and cases to demonstrate broad applications of spreadsheet modeling and simulations in manufacturing and service operations, supply chain systems, yield management, asset dynamics, option pricing, etc. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Construct an optimization model with the use of spreadsheets. 2. Apply linear programming in making decisions in the area of operation management such as production mix, personnel scheduling, aggregate planning and multi period production models. 3. Use mixed integer linear programming tools in making decisions in the areas of capital budgeting and fixed charge models. 4. Create and use nonlinear programming in pricing models. 5. Apply goal programming and Trade-off-Curves in the decision making of multiple objectives. 6. Develop spreadsheet simulation models. View Class Schedule
