Kinematics and kinetics principles of rigid-body dynamics are introduced. Emphasis is on the analysis of bodies in plane motion. Typically offered Fall. Prerequisite(s): (MET 11100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- OR MET 11800 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D-) AND (MA 16019 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- (MAY BE TAKEN CONCURRENTLY) OR APPL FOR MIN. SCORE OF 085 OR S12 FOR MIN. SCORE OF 660 OR A02 FOR MIN. SCORE OF 32) Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify the type of solution method required for dynamics problems. 2. Use kinematics, work/energy principles, conservation of energy, impulse/momentum, or conservation of momentum to solve dynamics problems. 3. Identify the correct coordinate system type for various dynamics problems. 4. Calculate the mass moment of inertia for basic and composite shapes. 5.
