Catalog description
This course is an introductory graduate course on modeling solar cells and batteries based on current research in the field. Topics include 1) Mathematical analysis: Ordinary differential equation, Laplace transform analysis 2) Modeling and simulations with MATLAB/Simulink and COMSOL 3) Applied experiments using data acquisition systems. Permission of instructor required. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Develop an ability to formulate analytical models of solar cells and batteries by applying differential equations and Laplace transform. 2. Develop an ability to analyze solar cells and batteries through computer coding and simulations. 3. Develop an ability to conduct appropriate experimentation of solar cells and batteries and analyze the data. 4.
