This course covers information security governance and risk management, access control, security architecture and design, physical security, telecommunication and network security, wireless security, cryptographic, Virtualization and cloud security, supply chain security, critical infrastructure security, business continuity, legal issues, application security and software development assurance, security operations, security policy, security management, ethical hacking and penetration testing. Permission of department required. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Analyze the history of Information Assurance and Security and its relationship with the development of technology. 2. Analyze vulnerabilities and threats for different components of cyber infrastructure. 3. Evaluate the relationship between threats, vulnerabilities, countermeasures, attacks, compromises and remediation. 4. Analyze how IT system components (e.g. servers, routers, people, software) can be designed with vulnerabilities, threats and countermeasures. 5. Analyze operation security issues and countermeasures. 6. Analyze the reason that security and assurance must be “built in” to design and architecture from the beginning to be most effective. 7. Analyze the system life-cycle and its relationship to security. 8. Analyze the reasons for the major developments in the field of IAS. 9. Create security management, policy, business continutiy. 10. Evaluate disaster recovery scenarios and the appropriate countermeasures for various security threats. View Class Schedule
