Catalog description

This course will cover the fundamental concepts and design implications required to implement biometric systems. Key approaches and machine learning techniques specific to vision based, speech based, and behavioral based biometric systems will be discussed. Biometric system performance evaluation and issues related to security and privacy will also be addressed. Permission of Instructor required. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Employ biometric specific feature extraction techniques and machine learning skills to applied industry or research problems. 2. Have a good grasp of the multimodal design and implementation of automatic learning techniques to solve problems related to biometric recognition. 3. Collaborate with team members to deliver a solution with limited resources and time. 4. Conduct independent research under the instructor’s guidance. 5.
