Catalog description

This course covers the design and implementation of enterprise level networks. Topics include network topologies, protocols, technologies, services, design and architecture, and implementation of the network design. Extensive laboratory exercises are assigned. Typically offered Spring. Prerequisite(s): ITS 37200 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify the stakeholders of a system and formulate their needs. 2. Distinguish between non-functional and functional requirements and understand the Top-Down Network Design Methodology and able to analyze the business goals and constraints. 3. Understand Scalability, Availability, Disaster Recovery, Network Performance, Security, Manageability, Usability, Adaptability, and Affordability and can analyze technical goals and tradeoffs. 4. Analyze and compare the various networking topologies. 5. Conduct the performance measurement study for the existing networks using appropriate tools and metrics and present the results. 6. Distinguish the inter- and intra-autonomous systems and select the appropriate routing protocol(s). 7. Function effectively as a member of a group engaged in course activities such as lab and project. View Class Schedule
