A beginning Italian course with emphasis on communicative skills (listening and speaking), literacy (reading and writing) and culture. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Recognize familiar words and very basic phrases. 2. Speak and write simple phrases and sentences. 3. Interact in a basic way, provided the other person is prepared to repeat or rephrase things at a slower rate of speech and help the student to formulate the intended thought. 4.
