Epidemiology is an exploratory course in the distribution and determinants of health/illnesses and how to prevent or control these issues. This course will expand students’ knowledge of the history, principles and methods used in epidemiology. Prerequisite(s): SCI 10500 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C OR BIOL 10100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C OR BIOL 21300 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the role of epidemiology, historically and currently, and how it’s used to assess health problems across populations. 2. Identify epidemiological approaches to health research with respect to their design, implementation, and analysis. 3. Apply the epidemiological criteria to establish cause and effect. 4. Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to public health information. 5. Describe the role of epidemiology, historically and currently, and how it’s used to assess health problems across populations. 6.
