Catalog description

Students work with a faculty mentor on a research project. Students will contribute to ongoing research while learning current research techniques. Permission of department required. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): HONR 21100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- OR HONR 21200 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate knowledge of current research methodologies in their discipline and know when to use them. 2. Explain the existing body of relevant research and will be able to explain how their project fits in. 3. Identify and practice research ethics and responsible conduct in research. 4. Apply problem solving skills to address research setbacks. 5. Work autonomously in an effective manner, setting and meeting deadlines. 6. Explain their research to others in the field and to broader audiences through research presentations. 7. Reflect constructively on their research experience in making decisions about their future.
