Graduate History Internship

Catalog description

This graduate-level internship in History gives students professional experience in public history projects at museums and historical societies. Students propose a project in cooperation with a professional supervisor at an historic site, historical society, museum, or preservation group and apply their research and interpretive skills in a public setting. Permission of instructor required. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Apply research, written, and verbal skills learned in academic studies of public history and archives in real-world settings. 2. Utilize content-based, technical, and communication skills (using archival and museum software, designing history exhibits, cataloging artifacts, serving public audiences, etc.) at museums and historical societies. 3.
