The course is an introduction to various aspects of Chinese civilization from its origin to 1900. While offering a comprehensive overview of the 4000 years of Chinese history, this course focuses on the changes and continuities of Chinese economy, culture, politics, and society. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. This course is designed to provide students with a global perspective and basic understanding of the Chinese civilization, develop students’ critical thinking, and improve their writing skills.
