Family Resource Management

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the concepts of family resource management. Many factors influence decisions made by individuals and families including values, goals, available resources, and the changing family, community, and global events. Emphasis will be placed on decision making and problem solving strategies as they relate to working with individuals, single-parent families, traditional families, and extended families. Typically offered Fall. Prerequisite(s): HDFS 20500 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Explain, define and apply the concepts of family resource management. 2. Use family resource management concepts to examine and carry out assignments applicable to real life situations. 3. Become familiar with resources available to individuals and families within the community. 4. Analyze issues at the local, state, national and global levels that impact individuals and families in making personal and family decisions.
