Catalog description
Directed teaching for early education settings with attention to developmentally appropriate guidance. Course will focus on interaction with individual children and small groups. Students will participate in classroom activity planning, documentation of children’s work and assessment. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): HDFS 21600 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- AND HDFS 31500 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- AND HDFS 34101 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Experiential Learning (EXL): Yes Course Learning Outcomes 1. Design and implement developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive plans that support groups and/or individual children, and to assess their progress. 2. Share ideas and information with others in ways that value family culture and strength. 3. Observe and reflect about personal encounters with colleagues, children and their families. 4. Advocate for children and their families in coordination with site policies and procedures. 5.
