Catalog description

A survey of early education programs, including center based, infant/toddler, family child care, and kindergarten. Course will include consideration of the history & theory of early childhood programs; program routines and organization for the healthy intellectual, social & physical growth of young children; professional relationships with parents and staff. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Become familiar with the history of early childhood and the child care movement in the Unite States. 2. Become familiar with the policies of developmentally appropriate practice in EC programs, health & safety and general teaching strategies. 3. Compare and contrast ECE curriculum models-philosophical, theoretical, and practical. 4. Gain knowledge in parent involvement. 5.
