Catalog description

This course helps students become better business writers, across a wide range of audiences, for multiple purposes, and in a variety of media. This course engages business-related material with an awareness of audience needs and contexts. It prepares students to address problems in the workplace, social, or global levels. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 10400 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- OR ENGL 10000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF B- OR ENGL 10800 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- OR ENGL 10100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- OR HONR 11100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Use theories of rhetoric to develop texts, think critically, solve problems, and engage with the needs of diverse audiences. 2. Apply data-driven approaches to specific rhetorical contexts, problems, and situations. 3. Compose effective, field-specific business documents through a process of analysis and revision. 4.
