Catalog description

Reading and discussion of poetry from different periods aimed at enhancing the student’s understanding of genre, form, and style; how poetry grows out of and speaks to its historical moment; and how poetry addresses pressing social issues. Discuss those genres, topics, and conventions in relation to their diverse historical, cultural, and aesthetic contexts. 3.
