EDPS 61000 is a field experience for first year master’s students in school counseling, consisting of a minimum of 100 hours in a school, under the supervision of both a site supervisor and a campus supervisor. Permission of instructor required. Prerequisites: EDPS 60000 and EDPS 60100. Permission of instructor required. Typically offered Spring. Prerequisite(s): EDPS 60000 FOR LEVEL GR WITH MIN. GRADE OF B- AND EDPS 60100 FOR LEVEL GR WITH MIN. GRADE OF B- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Develop counseling competencies related to individual, small-group, and large-group interventions. 2. Increase knowledge of school settings, including organizational structure, processes, and mission. 3. Increase competence regarding articulating the role of the school counselor. 4. Increase awareness of legal and ethical concerns related to school counseling and to increase competence in ethical decision-making. View Class Schedule
