Measuring Educational Achievement

Catalog description
A course in developing, analyzing, and interpreting measures of educational achievement. Emphasis is placed upon cognitive tests. Nontest techniques for assessing behavior are also explored. Prior experience with statistics or measurement, although helpful, is not required for this course. Typically offered Fall Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Understand fundamental concepts of classical tests theory. 2. Apply basic measurement principles to evaluate/interpret tests. 3. Conduct basic statistical and item analyses on assessment data. 4. Understand the age, gender, ethnic, language, disability and cultural factors related to assessment and evaluation of individuals and groups. View Class Schedule
