This course is designed to help candidates construct knowledge about techniques for collaborating with families and professionals to support the needs of children/youth with disabilities. This course will facilitate the development of professional practices and relationships by exploring current research on effective methods of interaction with key stakeholders which support inclusive educational practices. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate how exceptionalities may interact with development and learning and use this knowledge to provide meaningful and challenging learning experiences for individuals with exceptionalities. 2. Demonstrate their foundational knowledge of the field and the professional Ethical Principles and Practice Standards to inform special education practice, to engage in lifelong learning, and to advance the profession.
