Catalog description

(ENGL 51900) This course focuses on current issues and techniques in ESL instruction and assessment for students at the beginning or intermediate stages of English language acquisition Pre-K-12. Emphasis is on the design of materials and instruction that foster English language development in the content areas of the curriculum (i.e., Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English or SDAIE). Some familiarity with elementary and/or secondary teaching methods is assumed. Typically offered Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1.
