Survey course in the acquisition of and instruction in reading, writing, and other aspects of language. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Develop a broad background and comprehensive understanding of literacy history, theory, and the socio-cultural influences that have shaped research and practice in the field. 2. Examine the constructs of reading and literacy from multiple theoretical perspectives, and in differing historical contexts. 3.
