Catalog description

Provides a structured field-based experience for candidates to apply theory to practice in special education early childhood settings. Particular emphasis is placed on pedagogy, philosophy and professional development. Prerequisite(s): EDCI 36100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C AND EDCI 36300 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C Course Learning Outcomes 1. Design, plan, implement, and modify appropriate activities that are individual to students’ developmental needs, including both academic and self-help skills. 2. Demonstrate their ability to select, administer, interpret, and communicate the results of assessments for various instructional purposes and for planning, progress monitoring, and measuring outcomes. 3. Demonstrate their ability to use strategies to effectively assess students’ progress toward their annual goals, while measuring the educational benefit and impact of individual educational plans.
