Catalog description

Explores aspects of child development and its relevance to literacy, including early and middle childhood developmental influences. This course examines methods and materials appropriate for grades 3-6. Topics will include the instruction and assessment of students. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): EDCI 32100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- AND EDPS 37000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Student will be able to understand principles of early and middle childhood literacy and apply that knowledge through planning instruction through a variety of teaching methods. 2. Students will also learn how to appropriately adapt and adjust instruction for all students based on formal and informal assessment data. View Class Schedule
