A study of DC electrical circuits, Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws, series and parallel circuits, power, magnetism, ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, inductance, capacitance, and an introduction to alternating voltages, currents and reactance. Typically offered Spring. Prerequisite(s): MA 14700 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- OR ET 10001 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Define, compute, apply Electric charge, voltage, current, resistance, conductance, color code, measurement of voltage, current and resistance. 2. Define, compute, appy Ohms law, power, energy, efficiency. 3. Define, compute, apply Series circuit, KVL, series equivalent circuit, VDR, circuit ground and reference points. 4. Define, compute, apply Parallel circuits, KCL, CDR. 5. Define, compute, apply Series-parallel circuits, analysis and application of series-parallel circuit. 6. Define, compute, apply Constant current sources, source conversion, branch circuit analysis, mesh and nodal analysis, delta-wye conversion. 7. Define, compute, apply Network theorems. 8.
