Catalog description

This course is an introduction to big data algorithms, tools, and applications, beginning with the concepts, terminologies, and trends in big data and progressing to various algorithms associated with massive data including map-reduce, recommendation systems, and large-scale machine-learning. The course will cover application of widely-used tools used in the big data industry along with their architecture and programming environments. Prerequisite(s): ECE 25100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Explain and analyze big data and associated terms, based on current research in the field. 2. Develop big data applications using Hadoop and Spark. 3. Review and apply a few machine-learning algorithms in big data tools. 4. Explore and develop application of big data in various domains such as e-commerce, healthcare, security, and social network analysis. View Class Schedule
