Wireless Communication Systems

Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the basic aspects of wireless communications. The topics will include cellular concept, channel assignment, handoff, trunking efficiency, frequency reuse, capacity planning, mobile radio propagation, multipath fading, modulation, multiple access techniques, and wireless networking. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): ECE 30200 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C AND ECE 31100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C Course Learning Outcomes 1. Understand basic radio propagation. 2. Understand basics of antennas. 3. Understand cellular concepts including frequency reuse. 4. To know how modulation techniques affects bandwidth efficiency. 5.
