Catalog description

This course provides hands-on experience with real-world power system modeling using ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) software. Building on the concepts learned in Introduction to Power Industry I, students will model and analyze basic generation, transmission, and distribution systems to understand how electric power is produced and delivered. The course emphasizes practical skills and real-world applications that prepare students for advanced courses in power and energy systems. Prerequisite(s): ECE 31400 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Use ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) software to model basic generation, transmission, and distribution systems. 2. Apply concepts learned in Introduction to Power Industry I to simulate real-world electric power operations. 3. Interpret simulation results to understand how changes in system parameters affect power flow and performance. 4. Demonstrate practical problem-solving skills through hands-on exercises and real-world power system examples. 5.
