This course introduces students in semester 4 to the fundamentals of the electric power industry, including generation, transmission, distribution, and emerging renewable energy technologies. Emphasis is placed on connecting engineering principles to real-world applications, helping students understand how electric power systems operate and preparing them for advanced courses in power and energy. Prerequisite(s): ECE 20100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the structure and key components of the electric power industry, including generation, transmission, and distribution systems. 2. Explain how electricity is produced, transmitted, and consumed in modern power systems. 3. Identify major renewable and emerging technologies transforming today’s power sector. 4. Relate basic electrical engineering principles to real-world applications in the power and energy industry. 5. Discuss real-world examples of how electric power systems operate and how engineers address practical challenges. 6.
