Catalog description

This course is an introduction of data mining and machine learning algorithms, techniques, applications, and practical implementations. The course will cover a broad range of widely applied machine learning algorithms spanning unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement learning scenarios. The course will also introduce techniques that help extract useful knowledge from a large amount of data. In this course, students will build machine models end-to-end from the ground up using the various machine learning techniques, including data collection, data enhancements, training strategies, and etc. The course also include various lab and final projects for students to gain solid hands-on experiences. Prerequisite(s): CS 36210 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- AND MA 26100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- AND MA 26500 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Design, implement, and train deep learning models from the ground up. 2. Optimize deep learning models, fine-tune data augmentation, and enhance security measures. 3. Engage in practical coursework through hands-on labs and projects, including object detection, facial expression recognition, handwriting analysis, and natural language processing.
