Catalog description

Using current media theories, models, and structures, students will learn how to critique the public and cultural influence of a variety of media genres. Students will examine the social and political messages inherent in news and entertainment media that reflect and win consent for social power. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Use current critical media theories, propaganda models, and hegemony to explain the cultural influence that news and entertainment have on public perceptions and attitudes. 2.
