Catalog description

Study of, and practice in, the fundamentals of editing copy for and display of news in the mass media. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Edit news stories for spelling and grammatical errors. 2. Demonstrate at least an intermediate understanding of Associated Press style. 3. Write effective headlines. 4. Write effective cutlines. 5. Crop and size photographs and illustrations 6. Produce finished layouts for news stories with headlines, photographs, illustrations, and cutlines. 7. Identify threats of libel and copyright infringement. View Class Schedule
