A survey of the print, broadcast, and film media in their relationship and influence on society. Study topics include: mass communication theories, documentaries, commercialism, news media, media effects and control, feedback, educational broadcasting, and audience analysis. Typically offered Fall Spring. General Education: Social Sciences, Technology Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate comprehension of key terms and concepts related to media studies. 2. Discuss the major theoretical approaches to media and society critically. 3. Discuss the history and development of the different media industries. 4.
