Catalog description

Topics include processing statements of SQL blocks, procedures, functions, packages, dependencies, database triggers, built-in packages, dynamic SQL and Object Technology and code tuning. Students acquire advanced skills in an applied environment reinforcing concepts and techniques of SQL programming. Typically offered Summer Fall Spring. Prerequisite(s): CIS 16600 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- AND (CIS 25300 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- OR BIA 30800 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- OR ISM 30800 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C-) Course Learning Outcomes 1. Create PL/SQL program blocks. 2. Identify and use appropriate programming constructs to fulfill application logic needs. 3. Manipulate database tables using PL/SQL programming. 4. Build error trapping facilities within PL/SQL programs. 5. Create PL/SQL program units including: procedures, functions, triggers, and packages. 6. Use Oracle-supplied packages in PL/SQL programs units. 7. Load data into Oracle tables from external files using the SQL*Loader utility. 8. Identify uses of dynamic SQL. View Class Schedule
