Catalog description

Laboratory experiments designed to illustrate the lecture material of CHM 26505. Elementary laboratory techniques essential to organic chemistry are introduced followed by the actual synthesis and purification of compounds discussed in CHM 26505. Typically offered Fall. Prerequisite(s): CHM 26505 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF C- (MAY BE TAKEN CONCURRENTLY) Course Learning Outcomes 1. Use theory to understand/predict experimental observations. 2. Demonstrate an understanding of the physical properties and a molecular understanding of chemical reactivity and materials. 3. Document scientific information and experimental data and write scientific reports, with graphical presentation of data. 4. Plan and perform chemical transformations. 5.
