Catalog description

Examination of systemic theories and research of couple therapy and sex therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and interventions. Developmental and contextual factors (specifically the impact of life span development, gender, sexual orientation, race, power, and privilege) affecting couple relationships and sexual dysfunctions are explored. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Assess and treat a range of issues, including substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and anxiety, and self-harm behaviors. 2. Demonstrate an integration of systemic, socio-cultural themes in treating common issues presenting in therapy. 3. Demonstrate the ability to gather information/research on clinical issues and able to intervene based on this knowledge. View Class Schedule
