Exploration and engineering evaluation of subsoil and groundwater conditions for selection and design of foundations for structures and earth masses. Permission of instructor required. Prerequisite(s): CE 32300 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Plan a site investigation. 2. Classify and characterize soils for foundation design. 3. Design of shallow and deep foundations. 4. Estimate the capacity of foundations. 5. Estimate the settlement of the soil under the foundation load. 6.
