Catalog description

Introduction to virus structure, evolution, and pathogenesis. Plant, Animal, and Bacterial viruses will be discussed, with an emphasis on human pathogens. Permission of instructor required. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe what a virus is, highlighting specific attributes including life cycle, structure (genomic and phenotypic), host range, and pathogenesis. 2. Communicate scientific principles related to viruses both in written and oral forms. 3. Demonstrate the ability to analyze primary research and synthesize the concepts presented. View Class Schedule
