Catalog description

An introduction to the biology of the amphibians and reptiles, including discussion and study of the evolutionary history, ecology behavior, physiology, and distribution of amphibians and reptiles. Special attention will be given to the identification of amphibians and reptiles found in northern Indiana. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 10100 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- AND (BIOL 10200 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- OR BIOL 33300 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D-) Course Learning Outcomes 1. Categorize the taxonomic relationships within the classes Amphibia and Reptilia: orders, major families, and local genera. 2. Relate the physiology and reproductive biology of amphibians and reptiles to their ecology. 3. Identify local species of the classes Amphibia and Reptilia. 4.
