Catalog description

A cross-cultural survey stressing different basic personality types and the processes by which adult personality is acquired. Case studies of selected non-Western cultures will be used to provide comparative perspective. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Explain in words and diagrams the dialectical relations among culture, personality, and cognition. 2. Distinguish and relate childhood and adult processes of enculturation and socialization. 3.
