Catalog description

Individual problems in representational and non-representational painting with emphasis upon the development of an individual point of view. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer. Prerequisite(s): AD 31000 FOR LEVEL UG WITH MIN. GRADE OF D- Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate competent use of painting tools materials. 2. Execute basic techniques and processes of paint application. 3. Demonstrate ability to construct an archival conscious painting support. 4. Build on rendering skills through emphasis on working from direct observation and demonstrate abstract perceptual abilities. 5. Demonstrate a beginning execution of color theory through projects and color terminology in written or oral form. 6. Demonstrate formal design concepts and use the principles and elements of design. 7. Discuss and evaluate art and ideas using appropriate terminology verbally and in written form.
