This course explores the history and development of environmental law in the U.S. You will examine key legal decisions and policy frameworks, including federal and state statutes, regulations, and judicial case law that shape human interaction with the environment. The course also considers ethical dimensions and the roles of governmental and nongovernmental actors in shaping and implementing environmental policy. Through case studies and practical analysis, you will apply legal reasoning to environmental challenges and explore alternative strategies, such as the use of renewable energy sources.
