Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to the principles of pharmacology with emphasis on practical skills and knowledge for success in health care settings. Students will explore drug classifications, mechanisms of action, dosage calculations and measurement conversions, routes of administration, and proper documentation procedures. The course also addresses the effects of medications on the body and effective strategies for patient education. Particular emphasis is placed on developing the ability to translate pharmacologic information into clear, patient-friendly language to support safe and effective medication usage.
