Catalog description

This course provides an overview of emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) that have an impact on academic achievement in educational settings. You will learn about the types of disorders and how to create an effective and supportive classroom environment. You will review the federal, state, and local requirements for diagnosis and interventions in public and private educational environments, as well as alternative educational placements. Social skills training and the inclusion model will be highlighted during the course of study. The importance of working as a collaborative team for students with EBD will be emphasized.
