This course provides an introduction to the field, study, and practice of Industrial and Organizational Psychology. The course reviews the history of the field and the role of theory within Industrial and Organizational Psychology. It also provides an overview of topics associated with the ethical, legal, individual, and sociocultural dimensions of organizations, units, and teams in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. The course explores theory and research into surveying and facilitating change in individuals, groups, and organizations to improve effectiveness, efficiency, attitudes, satisfaction, work-life quality, and retention. This course also covers professional competencies needed to work in the field of Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
