Business Policy in a Global Economy
Purdue University Global · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
In this doctoral-level course, you will examine business policy and strategy in the global economy through the lens of managerial decision-making and applied research. You will investigate how organizations formulate, implement, and adapt policies in uncertain environments, integrating systems thinking, ethical reasoning, inclusive leadership principles, and global perspectives into strategic analysis. You will also strengthen your doctoral-level skills in research, writing, and critical evaluation of scholarly and professional sources to inform evidence-based strategies and identify gaps in the literature. Special attention will be given to the disruptive impact of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and emerging technologies on strategy, leadership, and risk management. The course culminates in an in-depth literature review project, where you will synthesize research, identify opportunities for future inquiry, generate recommendations for practice, and propose potential research questions to support your progression toward the dissertation stage.
