P: STAT 51200 or C: STAT 51200 with a grade of C- or higher. Data analysis is an essential part of modern statistics and data science. This course will provide a foundation for students to think statistically by participating in the entire data analysis cycle. In particular, students will generate statistical questions and then use exploratory data analysis methods to address these questions. Specifically, students will use data acquisition, cleaning, visualizing, transforming, modeling, analysis, and interpretation to analyze big and complex data sets. The approach will be activity-based, and students will complete a data analysis project for the course.
