Catalog description
Introduction to Spanish language as well as to Hispanic cultures. Emphasis on development of communicative competence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. SPAN 11101 is a course for students with no experience in Spanish. Students who have ever taken a course in Spanish or have experience speaking the language must complete the departmental placement process. Students with two years of high school Spanish (grades 9-12) are required to take SPAN 11300.
