P: PHYS 10500 with grade of C- or better, and admitted into a program of the School of Music. This course introduces the creative and technical foundations of electronic music, with a focus on sound synthesis and sampling. Students will explore how electronic instruments and digital tools generate, shape, and manipulate sound, developing both a conceptual understanding and hands-on skills. Through analysis, listening, and creative projects, students will gain practical experience with synthesis methods and learn how electronic sound design influences contemporary music across genres and media.
