Catalog description

P: Student must be admitted into a program of the School of Music. This course develops the skills needed for success as a contemporary performing musician. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, stage presence, rehearsal and collaboration techniques, and effective communication in both live and studio settings. Students explore approaches to arranging, improvisation, and performance, while gaining practical insights into sound systems, recording environments, and the business of music. Attention is also given to health and wellness, as well as strategies for building a sustainable career. May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 8 credit hours.
