Catalog description

P: MA 22700 and PHYS 21900 with grades of C- or better; and junior or senior class standing. This course introduces fundamental principles of heat transfer: conduction, natural convection, forced convection, and radiation, with an emphasis on practical applications (e.g. HVAC). Analytical solutions will be compared with measurements using in-class demonstrations.
